In continuation of Mr. Severn's Despatch No.

422 of the 11th. ultimo, I have the honour to transmit the enclosed

summary of piracies and robberies reported in the Chinese Press as

having taken place in the Province of Kuangtung during the month of

December. I also enclose copies of three reports made to this

Government of piratical attacks which occurred outside the jurisdic-

-tion of the Colony.

Majesty's Minister, Peking.
